“Both Aniyariya and Dumadia were going in an SUV when the accused arrived in a pick-up van and waylaid them. The accused rammed the victims’ SUV, following which the SUV turned turtle. When the victims got out of the vehicle, the accused allegedly attacked them,” said an official from Sayla police station.
Both the victims ran towards quarry. However, the accused ran after them and beat them up. The victims received injuries on their heads and legs. They were first taken to Sayla Civil Hospital and from there they were shifted to Surendranagar Civil Hospital.
“Identities of the accused are yet to be ascertained, which will be established once we record the statements of the victims. We suspect a business rivalry as the reason behind the crime,” added the official.
