BENGALURU: Five days after she was attacked allegedly by her estranged lover and a boyfriend in Chikkabanavara, a 20-year-old student succumbed to injuries at a hospital on Friday.
On Tuesday, Soladevanahalli police had arrested the attackers and charged them with attempt to murder and sexual harassment; Babith, 21, and Rahul, 22, are now accused of murder.
The girl, studying final-year BE in a college, was in a relationship with Babith for four years and broke up recently. She became friends with Rahul over the last four months. “On Sunday, when Babith learnt that Divya was in Rahul’s house, he rushed there and an argument ensued. The girl was assaulted by both of them. Later, she went to Babith’s house where he again hit her with his helmet. Divya collapsed on the spot. Babith contacted Divya’s parents at 8.30pm and they rushed her to a private hospital,” a police officer said.
