Coronavirus Pune: COVID-19 cases to reach 41,000 mark by July-end

Considering the daily rise of alarming cases of coronavirus in Pune, the COVID-19 cases may cross the mark of 41,000 by July end 

Pune: Considering the daily rise of alarming cases of coronavirus in Pune, the cases may rise to 41,000 till July 31. The number is predicted by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) also PMC Mayor Murlidhar Mohol claims that we are well prepared for it.
 
Due to some relaxations on lockdown, people are stepping out of their homes. In ten days of the span, the number of patients has reached to 2,000.

Pune Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad said, "Our June prediction has come true and we are not only studying the cases but studying deeply and minutely. If we look at the current situation there are over 9,000 positive cases with 2,700 active cases. We have made alternative arrangements of beds and medical facilities round the clock. At present, there are some 2,500 suspects but we have managed to keep 15,000 additional beds."

He added, "As per our expert study mentioned by July first week it seems, the number to reach 18,000. On which we have arranged 282 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) cots and 172 ventilators."

Pune City Mayor Murlidhar Mohol Speaking to Sakal Times said, "We are well prepared and equipped to face the number. The study and the strategy with the best authorities and great teamwork, we are getting good sight of relief that patients recovering from the infection is increasing. Working out minutely and detailing at grass root study, we are able to trace the pandemic tail moving in areas based on which we are able to prepare micro containment blocks and unlocking few areas."

"The bigger challenge was manpower. We have already started recruitment for medical teams including doctors, nurses and more. This number is prediction to prepares ourselves in such a tough situation and we are well equipped and prepared for it."
