In cases of coronavirus, it has been found that patients' ability to smell and feel taste decreases. Now the government is going to make a new action plan regarding Corona soon. If all is well, the loss in the ability to smell and taste can also be made part of the Kovid-19 test. The issue was raised by the National Task Force constituted to deal with Kovid in the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). On the condition of anonymity, a member of the panel itself said, "The issue is being discussed at the moment, no decision has been taken."

The first format of testing was prepared in January

Symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty in breathing were first made part of Kovid Testing in January. Later in May, gas-related diseases such as diarrhea and vomiting were also added. At present, 13 symptoms and signs are taken into consideration to test the corona of any person, which was revised only last month. Such as fever, cough, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, nasalia, chest pain, body pain, sore throat, runny nose. Any patient with one or more symptoms is allowed the test. Now, when symptoms like sniffing and taste loss are also added, a patient will have to report about one to 15 symptoms.

Patients with cough-fever symptoms still more

In April, the World Health Organization (WHO) together with the United States, Australia, and several European Union countries added a lack of smell and taste to the major symptoms of this unknown disease. The UK added it to its list of Kovid-19 traits on 18 May. According to a medical journal published in Last, it is important to identify symptoms by combining symptoms to prevent community infections. Doctors treating Kovid patients in India say that expanding eligibility criteria will help identify cases.

Yatin Mehta, a doctor at Medanta Hospital, Gurugram, says, "Those who lose their ability to smell or have trouble tasting want to get their test done in large numbers. However, fever, sore throat, and cough patients cannot be compared with these people. We see patients with a corona with these symptoms, so it doesn't seem to be bad to include it in the list of criteria for the COVID test. '
