A petition has been filed on behalf of the students in the Supreme Court in view of the increasing cases of Corona in the country. It has demanded the cancellation of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) notification of conducting the remaining exams of 12th from July 1 to 15. In fact, only some students who appeared in the 12th examination have filed this petition. The petition demands CBSE to declare the result on the basis of the previous examinations and internal assessment marks of the remaining examination.

Expressing concern over the safety of lakhs of students, the petition said that if students appear for the exam then they may be vulnerable to infection. Therefore, the Supreme Court should cancel the May 18 notification of CBSE, in which the date of the remaining examinations of class 12 was announced. Also, it should stay until the petition is decided.
