INDORE: Final year/semester students will have to reach their respective exam centres an hour in advance for thermal scanning.

In rarest of the rare case, if a student is unable to reach his/her exam centre, he/she will be permitted to appear at their nearest exam centre. The student will have to specify the condition due to which he/she has come to write the exam in a different centre.

"We have suggested all the exam centres to ensure arrangements for 15-20 additional students in case of emergency. The reason stated by the students should be genuine for the centre to permit," Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) exam controller Dr Ashesh Tiwari told TOI.

The colleges have been requested to make a budget for the sanitization work of the exam centres for every examinations after some principals had raised the question of the extra expenditure of sanitization. Although, the varsity and Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) is expecting the colleges to bear the charges from the college funds.

"We want the colleges to look for an agency on college-level and get the sanitization done on their level. The varsity, however, asked them to make a budget and we would try to consider," he said. The students will have to carry their own masks and gloves. Although for emergency, colleges have been recommended to keep around 100 masks and gloves.

The varsity will conduct another special examination after a span of three months only for those students who were either affected with Covid-19, got a negative report after treatment but couldn't complete their quarantine period or had a family member suffering with Covid due to which they were home-quarantined, will be permitted to appear for this special exam.

They, however, will have to produce government documents to substantiate their situation. The colleges were instructed that those students who are running comparatively higher temperature will be accommodated in a separate room for the exam.

The meeting related to examination was conducted on Wednesday by DHE and DAVV with the principal of lead colleges and was attended by DHE additional director Dr Suresh Silawat, principals of 10 lead colleges, DAVV vice-chancellor Dr Renu Jain, along with the DAVV registrar Anil Sharma and deputy registrar (exam) Prajwal Khare.
