An alleged pervert after he allegedly sent sexually explicit messages to officers posing as a teenage girl.
The man was arrested in Illawarra, NSW, on Thursday after allegedly grooming what he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.
It came after detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crime Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) began engaging online with the Wollongong man in April.

Police will allege that the man told the 'teenager' that he wanted to perform sex acts on her.
It will also be alleged the man attempted to arrange to meet the girl in person.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested the 41-year-old man near Dapto Railway Station.
A subsequent search was conducted at the man’s home where multiple electronic devices were seized.
He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with use carriage service to solicit child abuse material and use carriage service to procure person under 16 years for sexual activity.
The man was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Thursday.
Strike Force Trawler is an ongoing investigation by the CEIU into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated through the internet and other devices.
