Encounter between security forces and militants in J&K, two manage to escape

Two militants managed to escape after an encounter broke out on Thursday morning with security forces in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The gunfight started when security forces were carrying out a cordon and search operation in Budgam's Pathanpora area after receiving specific input about presence of militants.

The militants escaped after a brief gunfight and throwing grenades. A pistol, six magazines of AK rifles and other materials were recovered from the site.

Police and security forces were jointly carrying out the operation, said Kashmir Zone Police.
