ULHASNAGAR: With
Covid-19 patients numbers rising in the city, the
Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) have decided to use
artificial intelligence (AI)- based tool to identify Covid-19 patients more quickly. The AI based tool detects Covid-19 from chest X-rays.
The online tool is developed by Nashik based company and is a complete contactless testing procedure to detect Covid-19 through the chest X-ray of patients. The UMC has claimed they have tied up with Nashik based ESDS software company.
The company have claimed that it's 'AA+ Covid-19 Testing Solutions' will detect weather the patient is suffering from Covid-19 or not in five minutes.
The press note issued by UMC said that presently the civic body collecting swab samples from suspects and sending it to laboratories in Mumbai where tests are done. The procedures takes time during which the patients are kept in isolation wards.
However with this new technology the patient results will come in few minutes and treatment of such patients can be started soon.
The UMC has claimed that test of each patient would cost nearly Rs 600 and it will be bourne by the UMC.
The UMC commissioner Sameer Unhale on Wednesday also launched digital dashboard displaying beds available for Covid-19 patients.
52 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported from Ulhasnagar on Wednesday taking the total number of Covid-19 patients to 679 in the city including 24 death so far.
In Mumbai also similar technology is being used to detect Covid-19 patients where BMC using a mobile
coronavirus testing bus for mass screening. The bus is equipped with x-ray examination facility.
