Six-time world champion Lewis Hamilton still gets a 'buzz' when driving a Formula 1 car, the Briton was testing the W09 Mercedes at Silverstone. 

It was Hamilton's first drive in over 100 days and he said 'it felt great to be back in the car, and after all these years it still feels good and fresh.' 

The first race of 2020 Formula 1 season is set for the first week of July at the Spielberg in Austria with no spectators. Several Grand Prix canceled and postponed due to the global coronavirus outbreak.

Hamilton's race engineer Pete Bonnington says the purpose of the two days was to focus on how to get ready to race in Austria, and to get procedures in place to make sure there's no risk of transmitting the (Covid-19) virus. 

Masks are worn in the garage when team personnel are unable to maintain a two metre distance from others. Bonnington says the difficulty lies when mechanics are working on the car doing the 'turn around'. 

Mercedes says no one has tested positive for the virus and is hoping that with the procedures in place it can maintain that heading into the first race which will take place behind closed doors.
