The Ministry of Human Resource Development is considering reducing this year's syllabus of schools and colleges by 25 to 30 percent. Apart from this, there will be fewer hours for students to attend class in 2020-2021. The final decision will be taken soon.


Human Resource Development Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that suggestions have been received from many parents in this regard. Dr. Nishank tweeted, "Let all teachers and academics make their opinions known and offer suggestions on my Facebook page or Twitter or the Ministry's hashtag Syllabus for Students 2020 so that a final decision can be taken in this regard."


Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia had earlier written a letter to Nishank demanding a reduction of 25 percent.

Apart from this, several meetings have been held, and a decision will be taken on when the schools will be reopened soon. On which, according to the officials of the Ministry, the states have suggested a relaxed action plan to remove classes, attendance registers mandatory at different stages, call students one day at a time and avoid any accidental situation.
