Pune reported 435 new coronavirus cases, taking the total to 10,394 and seven new deaths taking the total death toll to 449. Pune division crossed 10,000-mark on Wednesday; meanwhile, the district discharged 296 patients from different hospitals in the region, now the recoveries in the city stand at 6,676.

The PMC health chief said, 1,949 samples were taken from PMC on Wednesday, the city's total sample testing is at 64,444. Currently, Pune has 2,528 active cases, of the total 214 patients are in critical condition, and 43 are on ventilator support.
Sassoon General Hospitals (SGH) and a Pimpri-Chinchwad Corporation hospital reported two deaths each, Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Bharati Hospital and Poona Hospital recorded one death each.
A 62-year old female died at SGH due to type I acute respiratory failure triggered by COVID-19 infection. She also suffered from pneumonitis, diabetes, hypertension and morbid obesity, the officials said.
Another 69-year-old woman succumbed to the disease due to acute respiratory failure with multiple organ dysfunction syndromes (MODS). The patient earlier suffered from pneumonitis, endocarditis, hepatitis, hypertension, ischemic heart disease (IHD) and cardiogenic shock.
Bharati Hospital reported the death of 61-year old male from Mahadev Vihar Haveli. Meanwhile, the PMC-run hospital reported the death of 85-year old Wakad resident and 68-year old female from Charoli.
Maharashtra reported 149 deaths on Wednesday; it is the highest single-day death spike till date. The total death toll of the state is at 3,483 while recording 3,254 new cases on Wednesday, the total count of cases is at 94,041.
