Everyday containment zones will be notified before 12pm at panchayat level, containment zone will be based on wards and at corporation level, it will be declared at sub ward level. Notification of containment zones will also take into account local conditions prevailing in markets, colony, residential area and streets.
Containment zones will be declared in case an individual in a given ward turns positive due to local contact, if two individuals in quarantine at home in a given ward turn positive or in case there are more than 10 primary contacts presently under surveillance in a given ward or in case there are more than 25 secondary contacts presently under surveillance in a given ward or in case spread potential is identified in a sub-ward level area such as markets, harbours, shopping malls, streets, residential area etc. by the district administration due to the occupational habit of an individual who turned positive.
Containment zones will be declared for an initial period of seven days and will be extended based on recommendation of district collector.
If more than 50% wards in a local body get notified as containment zones it will become red colour coded local self government. When it gets lower than 50% the local body will be exempted.
If those coming from foreign countries or other state test positive at at home, that house and other houses within a prescribed area become containment zone.
