The apprehended accused was identified as Jaswant Singh Jaatav.AGRA: Five days after making the first of 25 Anamika's arrest in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) teachers appointment scam, Kasganj Police have arrested one of the main accused, a headmaster working in Kannauj and hailing from Mainpuri.
The apprehended accused was identified as Jaswant Singh Jaatav (42) of Nagla Khar village under Bhogaon police limits, and his younger brother Pushpender Singh Jaatav (32) alias Nitu, Raj- who is absconding since June 6.
According to police, the two brothers have been involved in the scam for last seven to eight years and prior to Anamika Shukla, they have used Deepti Singh identity and academic qualifications details to help scores of women get government teacher job.
“They charged Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh per woman to prepare forged documents. The modus operandi was simple, after collecting details of top ranking candidates who made into government job, the accused Pushpender Singh with the help of his brother would prepare fake marksheet, aadhar and other documents,” said superintendent of police, Sushil Ghule of Kasganj.
He said, “We suspect that many more people possibly even education department men would be involved in the scam. Our team is searching for absconding Pushpender, once he is arrested more details would emerge. As if now, the apprehended Jaswant as accused his brother to be kingpin of the scam.”
Jaswant is BA 2nd year drop out of 1997-98 batch of National degree college, Mainpuri. He did his high school from Farrukhabad and intermediate from Mainpuri.
Since September 22, 2015 he was working as headmaster of government school Rampur Barauli of Indragadh block Hasrena police limits.
Speaking to TOI, SHO Soron Ripudaman Singh who is leading the investigation the scam said, “Jaswant obtained headmaster job based on fake documents. He had impersonated himself as Vibhav Kumar, resident of Hasanpur village of Bhogaon police limits, Mainpuri.”
It’s important to note, that earlier TOI had exclusively reported, that a FIR lodged against Anamika Shukla in Amethi district, mentioned her address Hasanpur, but the village (Tigva) pradhan Mahendra Singh Jaatav had claimed, that entire village is populated by Dalit community and no other community family or induvial lives. Hasanpur is just 4 km away from Jaswant’s village Nagla Khar.
“The accused had used Hasanpur and many other village as address in fake documents of various Anamika Shukla as well. During a raid to his home, we found car, LCD tv, fridge and various other luxury items along with big house which accused bought from scam money,” said SHO.
He added, “During the investigation we found that the two brothers helped only those women with fake documents, who had some link or contact in their family, village or friends. In Surpiya Jaatav case who originally hailed from Kamyganj of Farrukhabad district, but was working as teacher in Faridpur (Kasganj) KGBV, we found that her uncle Shishupal was friend of the two brothers and therefore they helped the woman to get job for Rs 1.5 lakh.”
