Mohammed Riyaz, DYFI all-India president (File Photo)THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DYFI all-India president Mohammed Riyaz will marry Veena T, the daughter of Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, it is learnt. According to sources in CPM, the marriage to be held in Thiruvananthapuram next week will be a low-key affair.
Riyaz, 39, who belongs to Kozhikode, entered politics as an SFI worker at St Joseph's School and Farook College. After holding several positions in SFI and DYFI, Riyaz was elected the national president of DYFI in 2017. He had unsuccessfully fought the Lok Sabha election from Kozhikode in 2009. At present, he is a state committee member of CPM.
A software engineer by profession, Veena, 37, runs a software company, Exalogic, in Bengaluru. Prior to that she had worked for eight years in Oracle and then two years as the CEO of RP Techsoft based in Thiruvananthapuram. Exalogic was launched in 2015.
It is learnt that registration process for the marriage has begun. Both Riyaz and Veena are divorcees.
