2021 Chevrolet Spark Gains Red Pick Edition, Minor Upgrades In South Korea

The Chevrolet Spark city car gains several updates for the 2021 model year in Korea.

Chief among the changes is a new range-topping edition that brings more exclusive looks thanks to enhanced customizing options. The Chevrolet Spark Red Pick special edition is based on the Premier trim level but differentiates itself from regular Spark models thanks to several black-painted details.

Those include the Chevrolet bow tie, grille frame, side mirrors, and badging. The Red Pick edition also features black 16-inch alloys with red accents while inside it features a black bow tie emblem on the steering wheel and two-tone floor mats.

Customers who want a more personalized Spark can opt for the My Fit customization program which unlocks access to upgrades such as dual-tone black and grey 16-inch alloys, stripes on the front fenders, hood and roof, black side skirts and bumper lip, as well as dual-tone liveries.

The rest of the Chevrolet Spark lineup continues with the same looks introduced by the 2019MY facelift, though customers now have two new colors to choose: Wonderland Blue and Sunset Orange. Inside, the 2021 Spark gains new LED lighting and a safety belt system for rear seat passengers.

The city car soldiers on with the same naturally aspirated 1.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine rated at 98 HP and 94 lb-ft (127 Nm) of torque. A five-manual is standard while a CVT is optional.

Prices for the updated 2021 Spark lineup remain unchanged and start from 982,000 won ($8,240) for the base model. The city car is still successful in Korea, where sales rose 0.19 percent to 7,255 units in the first quarter of 2020. The Asian country is the world’s second biggest for the Chevy Spark, only superseded by the United States. GM sold 9,352 Spark city cars in the first quarter this year in the U.S., up 45.6 percent year-on-year.
