DMK's J Anbazhagan, who was actively participating in MK Stalin’s 'Ondrinaivoom Va' initiative to distribute relief material to people, passed away on Wednesday after testing positive for COVID 19.  The incumbent MLA of Chepauk-Triplicane constituency, was thrice MLA. In his present Chepauk seat, he has won twice consecutively in the years 2011 and 2016.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami took to his Twitter space and offered his condolences to the late leader.

Anbazhagan was admitted to a Chennai based private hospital where he was receiving treatment when he breathed his last. After he complained of difficulty in breathing, his family rushed him to the hospital where he was under ventilator support.
