The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has brought back 108 consignments worth nearly ₹1,350 crore from UAE and Hong Kong-based entities of accused diamantiare Nirav Modi and his accomplice Mehul Choksi.

A press release issued by ED said the valuables included polished diamonds, pearls and silver jewellery. They were kept in the godown of a logistics company in Hong Kong. The consignments that were brought back to Mumbai on June 10 weigh about 2,340 kg. The consignments had been sent to Hong Kong from Dubai in early 2018 and the officers at the ED had received intelligence inputs about the valuables in July 2018. The officers were continuously engaged in discussion with various authorities in Hong Kong to bring the valuables back to India.

Of the 108 consignments, 32 belong to the entities controlled by Nirav Modi and rest belong to entities controlled by Mehul Choksi. Earlier, the ED had successfully brought back 33 consignments of valuables from Dubai and Hong Kong. These valuables were worth about ₹137 crore.
