Best treatment facilities along with counselling for cops to prevent the spread of COVID-19

A meeting organised by the Pune District Collector, Naval Kishor Ram on Wednesday, reviewed the alarming incidents of policemen especially the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) who are been largely affected by the COVID-19 during their duty in the current situation.

Pune: A meeting organised by the Pune District Collector, Naval Kishor Ram on Wednesday, reviewed the alarming incidents of policemen especially the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) who are been largely affected by the COVID-19 during their duty in the current situation. The district administration has assured that they will be extending all possible co-operation, support for preventing the transmission of the novel virus. 

The meeting was organised by Collector Ram in Daund at SRPF group 5 along with Pune Rural superintendent of police Sandeep Patil, SRPF group 7 commandant Shrikant Pathak, SRPF group 5 commandant Tanaji Chikhale deputy superintendent of police Ashwariya Sharma, Sub-divisional officer Pramod Gaikwad, Tashildar Sanjay Patil, medical officer Dr Vaishali Sonawane, Dr Nitin Bhosale and Dr Sangram Denge attended the meeting.

In the meeting, various effective measures taken by the police departments and units were discussed and shared. Addressing the meeting Collector Ram said, "the SRPF police are stationed outside their own houses guarding the areas to avoid such spread of the virus. But, unfortunately, the number of COVID-19 positive policemen is increasing. The administration responsibility is to provide medical facilities soon and no hospital must be left with a shortage of equipment and medicine."

He went on, "on immediate bases such treatment must be given by the administration. The proposal has been accepted by the state government to take preventive measures and care for the Coronavirus warriors. If any policeman feels uneasy, unwell or even notices slight symptoms, they should immediately investigate. It's very important to provide medical services by government and private hospitals."

"Apart from medical facilities, a counselling session for police and family and online guidance and awareness programme about precautionary measures to be taken in this pandemic will be provided. The Coronavirus is at its peak and it is affecting warriors daily, so we must follow all the precautionary measures." Ram further added.
