May 2020 saw a positive uptake for new vehicle sales following the disastrous events of just the month before.

Whereas automakers buckled in terms of sales, it was a much better showing after several thousands of vehicles were signed off on. Leading the charge is the Volkswagen Group, which registered a total sales figure of 2749 units. The perennial front-runner, Toyota, came in second on 1848 units sold.

Hyundai made the top three with 1368 units. Ford, who normally outsells the Korean automaker, had to settle for fourth on the list after managing to sell 811 units. Lower down, BMW (578 units) and Kia (545 units) round out the top 10. 

Nissan, however, who’d normally slot in behind Ford, finds itself just outside the top 10 on 467 units.
