Mumbai: 15-year-old falls to death in Dharavi, parents blame neighbour

MUMBAI: A neighbour was booked for negligence after a 15-year-old boy who went to put a tarpaulin fell and died in Shahu Nagar in Dharavi on Tuesday. The boy is survived by his parents and siblings.
According to the Sahu Nagar police on Tuesday Sameer Salim Idrisi, a resident of Jasmin Mill road in Dharavi had climbed atop his neighbour’s house to put a tarpaulin before the monsoon. "It was about 5.30pm when the boy fell from a height of around 15 to 20 feet and was seriously injured. He was rushed to Sion hospital where he succumbed the injuries," said a police officer from Sahu nagar.
During inquiries by deceased’s father Salim Idrisi it was learnt that their neighbour had asked his son to climb the roof and put the tarpaulin. Salim Idrisi then lodged a complaint with the Sahu Nagar police holding his neighbour responsible for his son’s death.
The Dharavi police have registered an offence under the IPC section of 304 a of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and negligence.
