PSEB 10th result 2020: 100% pass, it was 44% three years ago
Many schools individually did produce a genuine 100% pass result but it's the outbreak of coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown that forced the board to declare this as the overall result.

If it could gather, this is how Class X in Mohali would rejoice, like it did last year
MOHALI: Thanks to Covid-19, Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has achieved its dream target of 100% pass result in Class X. In the past three years, it ranged between 44% and 93%.
Many schools individually did produce a genuine 100% pass result but it's the outbreak of coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown that forced the board to declare this as the overall result. On May 29, the board declared results for class V, VIII, and matriculation examinations based on the grading system and continuous comprehensive evaluation (CCE).
The board will conduct examinations for students in the category of open school, golden chance, improvement, and additional subjects at the matriculation level, as they are not covered under the CCE criteria.
Education secretary Krishan Kumar said: "The Punjab government is monitoring the outbreak situation in the state. The board will conduct examinations only after the government allows student activity in schools."
Last year, the board schools created history by surpassing private schools in pass percentage. The board's Class X result was 93.45% in the year 2018-19, 66.94% in 2017-18, and 44.73% in 2016-17.
Punjab education secretary Krishan Kumar said: “The increase in total pass percentage is the result of cumulative efforts of the education department and teachers. In Mohali, we have also applied the formula of enhancing teacher’s ability and regular monitoring of the student performance in each subject. Teachers worked on weak students.”
He said the experiment had brought good results for Classes X and XII even last year.
