Cancer patient with Covid-19 dies in Noida, toll climbs to 10

Noida: One person died after testing positive in Noida and 38 more were found to have Covid on Tuesday. With this, the total number of positive cases rose to 691 in the district. So far, 10 Covid patients have died in Noida and the district now has 423 people who have beaten the virus.
In Ghaziabad, the administration confirmed three more deaths related to Covid and 25 positive cases on Tuesday. With this, the total number of positive cases rose to 527 and the death tally reached 14.
“All 38 patients in Noida who were found to have Covid today have been admitted to designated hospitals. Their contacts have been identified and quarantined,” said Dr Sunil Dohare, the district surveillance officer.
The person who died was a 40-year-old man from Noida Sector 75 and had been diagnosed with cancer. He had also tested positive at a private lab. He died in the early hours of Tuesday and the cause of death was mentioned as refractory shock with bilateral pneumonia and cardio respiratory failure.
Among the 38 people who tested positive, 26 are from seven families whose members were found to have Covid earlier. Five of the patients are from Bhangel, Dadri and Jewar, while are from Sector 51 and two from Sector 30.
In Ghaziabad, there were reports of seven Covid-linked deaths, but the health department confirmed only three. Two of the deaths were reported at LLRM Medical College in Meerut on Monday night, while one patient died at Santosh Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
A 46-year-old man from Shalimar Garden, who was undergoing treatment at MMG District Hospital, was referred to the medical college in Meerut after he developed bilateral pneumonia and died there later. Apart from him, a 27-year-old labourer who had come to the district hospital with a complaint of trouble in breathing, was also referred to Meerut and died on Monday night. A 39-year-old man from Behrampur died at Santosh Hospital.
