Springbok Sevens star Werner Kok is one of the most easily recognisable members of the Blitzboks side because of his long, blond and curly hair.
The plan for this year, though, was to shave it all off!
In an Instagram Live chat with Rugby Rocks' Cato Louw, Kok revealed that he would have gotten rid of his long hair had the Blitzboks won a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The gold medal match was scheduled for July 29, but the Games have been postponed until next year because of the global coronavirus crisis.
"It was supposed to happen this year because we were supposed to go to the Olympics," Kok said.
"When we won gold, I was going to shave everything off - that was the deal."
Kok also remains fully focused on the 15-man game where he is set to join the Sharks in Durban in July, but he could still feature at the Olympics next year.
"We will see what happens when I get there," he said.
"I’m committing fully to the Sharks and if the season goes well and I can play Super Rugby ... you never know what might happen.
"The Lions tour is next year and we will see when we get there. If the Olympics is an option for me, I can do it, but Im fully focused on the Sharks."
