Hazaribag: Hazaribag district superintendent of education Mohamood Alam on Monday put on hold the transfer certificates issued to about 50 students by the management of St Xavier’s School.
The school authorities had issued the certificates citing poor performance of the students in exams held in March. All the students were supposed to progress to Class IX this year. The guardians of the students had approached district education officer Ludi Kumari seeking her intervention in the matter last month.
Kumari had requested the principal of the school, Father Rosner Xalxo, to reconsider his decision and allow the kids to participate in online classes. Father Xalxo had defended the school’s action stating that the performance of the 50 students was unsatisfactory for the last three years.
