People were screened before entering Mansa Devi temple on MondayPANCHKULA: As many as 500 devotees offered prayers Mata Mansa Devi and Kali Mata temples on the first day of Unlock 1.0 on Monday. All visitors had made online appointments.
Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board chief executive officer M S Yadav said 400 devotees visited Mata Mansa Devi temple and 100 came to Kali Mata temple. The shrine board is expecting 4,500 devotees on Tuesday in both temples based on the appointment requests it has received.
Yadav said, "Our prime focus is on maintaining social distancing among devotees. Screening of the visitors is also important. Our guards are making sure nobody touches anything on the temple premises."
The shrine board officials stated that anyone who wanted to visit Mansa Devi temple would have register on official website mansadevi.org.in to make an appointment. The person will have to choose the temple - Mata Mansa Devi Kali Mata - where he wants to offer prayers.
Meanwhile, neighbourhood temples in all sectors also opened on Monday and people were allowed entry only if they were wearing masks.
