Haryana govt to send senior officials to districts to check Covid preparedness

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government has deputed senior officers to visit the districts for at least two days and two consecutive nights to supervise and review the current arrangements and to plan out the future arrangements required to be put in place based on the analysis of the rate of spread of Covid-19 in the state.
A government spokesperson said that these officers will specifically carry out various activities and tasks during their visit to their respective districts.
He said that they will carry out the audit of the actual implementation of all relevant instructions issued by the health department and of the respective district administration in every containment zone.
He said that the officers will also audit the actual implementation of the health department's notifications regarding the wearing of masks in public places etc. as well as various SOPs on social distancing issued by the home and ULB Department.
They will conduct a physical inspection of all necessary facilities in every Covid Care Centre as well as every public and community quarantine facility and isolation ward in the district, he added.
He informed that they will conduct a physical inspection of all ventilators, ICU beds and bedside oxygen beds in non-ICU wards in all private and public hospitals in the district. They will ensure that all officials of police, ULB, health and medical education and research departments in the district are galvanized into action and are motivated to carry on the fight against Covid-19, he added.
He further said that the concerned officers will energize all the registered volunteers of the district and to make arrangement for their best deployment by the District Administration. They will prepare a complete inventory of all available resources for testing, isolation, and treatment of all patients of Covid-19, he added.
He said that the officers will prepare an estimate of resources that would be needed if the current rate of spread of Covid-19 goes on for the next couple of weeks. They will identify opportunities for expansion of ventilators, ICU beds, non-ICU beds with bedside oxygen facilities and quarantine and isolation facilities as per the assessment, he added.
