THANE: Two deer were rescued from a society in the span of six hours on Tuesday. While one was seen wandering in the society, other was stuck in the gate and grievously injured.
The animals were rescued by Thane Regional Disaster Management Cell and NGO Wildlife Welfare Association.
"The deer's head was stuck in Rutu Enclave society's gate. Luckily, we just had to lift the deer and were easily able to remove it and we didn't had to use a cutter," said Aditya Patil, president of WWA.
The deer was sent for first aid at Thane SPCA hospital after which it was taken to SGNP for treatment.
It is learnt that a third deer is in the process of being rescued which is stuck in a nullah.
