Coronavirus LIVE updates: The total number of coronavirus cases in India has jumped to 268,139, while 7,487 people have died from the disease so far. Maharashtra has recorded a tally of 88,528, which is more than China's. In Mumbai alone, there are over 50,000 cases of Covid-19.
India is better positioned in the fight against Covid-19 compared to other countries but there is no space for complacency, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Tuesday. People need to be "more disciplined in Covid-19 appropriate behaviour" with the country having entered "Unlock 1.0 phase" after over two months of lockdown, added Vardhan.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has tested negative for coronavirus. The 51-year-old chief minister on Sunday complained of sore throat and mild fever, and cancelled all his meetings thereafter. Kejriwal did not take part in any meetings on Monday.
