FALL RIVER — Team members from Price Rite Marketplace presented a check for $43,770 to representatives from the Greater Boston Food Bank on May 28 from funds raised during the supermarket’s annual Check-Out Hunger fundraising campaign in Massachusetts.

During November and December 2019, 59 Price Rite Marketplace stores throughout Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island banded together to collect donations at checkout, raising over $131,000 for food banks across eight states to support the fight against hunger. The supermarket chain has raised over $1.8 million for the Check-Out Hunger initiative since 2002.

Price Rite Marketplace stores that contributed to The Greater Boston Food Bank donation include Fall River, New Bedford, Seekonk and Swansea locations. The Fall River Price Rite was the top fundraising store in Massachusetts, raising more than $14,000 during the campaign.
