Share market update: PSU bank shares fall; PNB dips 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading with losses in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Punjab & Sind Bank (down 4.99 per cent) , Bank of Maharashtra (down 3.32 per cent) , Central Bank of India (down 3.28 per cent) , Indian Overseas Bank (down 2.42 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (down 2.15 per cent) , Bank of India (down 2.01 per cent) , UCO Bank (down 1.91 per cent) , Indian Bank (down 1.03 per cent) , Union Bank of India (down 1.02 per cent) , State Bank of India (down 0.94 per cent) and Canara Bank (down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.97 per cent down at 1357.35 around 02:20PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 58.20 points at 10109.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 194.09 points at 34176.49.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, RBL Bank Ltd., SBI, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, Ashok Leyland, PNB, IDFC First Bank Ltd. and Federal Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
