Share market update: Metal shares mixed; Ratnamani Metals climbs 7%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading on a mixed note in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Ratnamani Metals & Tubes (up 6.83 per cent) , Welspun Corp (up 4.98 per cent) , APL Apollo Tubes (up 1.3 per cent) , NMDC Ltd (up 0.71 per cent) , Hindustan Zinc (up 0.58 per cent) , MOIL (up 0.53 per cent) and Jindal Steel & Power (up 0.45 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Hindustan Copper (down 3.43 per cent) , Hindalco Industries (down 2.12 per cent) , National Aluminium Company (down 1.82 per cent) , Coal India (down 1.5 per cent) , JSW Steel (down 1.49 per cent) , Steel Authority of India (down 1.22 per cent) , Vedanta (down 0.57 per cent) and Tata Steel (down 0.42 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.79 per cent down at 2028.6 around 02:12PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 72.55 points at 10094.9, while the BSE Sensex was down 238.98 points at 34131.6.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, RBL Bank Ltd., SBI, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, Ashok Leyland, PNB, IDFC First Bank Ltd. and Federal Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
