The incident took place on Sunday based on which a case has been filed against six people.
Pune: The Pune city is considered as a cultural capital, but in Pune's twin city, Pimpri-Chinchwad, six people got arrested for killing a youth out of a love relationship.
The Police has identified the deceased as Viraj Vilas Jagtap, a resident of Pimple Saudagar. The incident came to light after Viraj's uncle Jitesh Vasant Jagtap (44), a resident of Jagtapnagar in Pimple Saudagar lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with Sangvi police station.
The incident took place on Sunday based on which a case has been filed against six people under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal code comprising of murder and criminal conspiracy. The cases are lodged on Hemant Kailash Kate, Sagar Jagdish kate, Rohit Jagdish Kate, Kailash Murlidhar Kate, Jagdish Murlidhar Kate and Harshad Kailesh Kate.
The police have arrested Hemant and Sagar while the other four are the on run.
Senior Inspector Ajay Bhosale of Sangvi police station said, "the person who filed the complaint is the uncle of deceased youth. Deceased youth Viraj had a love relationship with a girl who was associated with the suspect's family. On Sunday night, Viraj was on his way back home was hit by a tempo traveller vehicle and he fell down from his bike."
"Viraj was surrounded by a group of six people who are been named as suspect in FIR. They warned him to end the relationship with the girl. When he denied, the suspect spit on him and also gave casteist remarks. They started beating him with sharp knives and chopper," he added.
"Viraj fall unconscious on the abandoned road and later was rushed to hospital. He was kept under the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital and his statement was recorded. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment on Monday wee hours" Ajay Bhosale further stated.
The investigation is underway.
