SA Rugby is hopeful that it can stage a domestic Super Rugby tournament in August and one possible option will be to host all of the matches in one city.
That was the view of CEO Jurie Roux on Monday.
SA Rugby is currently submitting its proposal to stage the tournament to government and is preparing for two possible scenarios should they be given the green light.

South Africa is in Level 3 of a nationwide lockdown as the fight against the coronavirus continues and while the franchises are expected to go back to training any day now, Roux and SA Rugby are expecting to be allowed to play matches again in Level 2.
When that does happen, then the first action will come in the form of a domestic tournament including the country's Super Rugby franchises.
If all competing sides are required to stay in one sanitised bio-bubble in order for the tournament to go ahead, then Johannesburg is the likeliest venue, Roux says.
"We've got two scenarios. There is our own bio-bubble scenario and if that is what government wants from us, we will obviously do that. The most likely venue for that bio-bubble would be Johannesburg for a number of logistical reasons," he said.
"If that is not necessary, then we've got a second plan that would involve certain elements of travel around chartered flights and dedicated hotels around the least amount of engagement. It would almost be a scenario where you fly in the morning, play and then get back on that same plane and fly back in that evening."
Roux added that SA Rugby would be completely guided by government, but he was hopeful that a return to play was not far away.
"The information initially was that it will only return on Level 1 and indications are now towards Level 2," he said.
"We have put out a scenario to government where we can handle 146 people in the precinct. That's a significant reduction in terms of security and it's basically your teams, support staff, officials and your television staff."
Roux also stressed the importance of the Springboks participating in the domestic tournament.
"The Springboks will absolutely be involved. We need them to get back to match fitness after the lockdown and back to being contact fit. We need them to be part of that," he said.
