Sambit Patra discharged after showing Covid symptoms, says need more time for recovery

BJP leader and party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra has been discharged from a hospital in Gurgaon where he was undergoing treatment after developing symptoms of coronavirus.

A day after his discharge from the Medanta hospital, Sambit Patra tweeted on Tuesday morning that although he has returned from the hospital, he has not recovered fully and will be staying at home for a few more days.

“I have returned home thanks to the good wishes from all of you. However, complete recovery will take some more time,” said Sambit Patra in his tweet on Tuesday.

Sambit Patra was admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon two weeks ago after he showed symptoms of coronavirus.

Several BJP leaders, including Jyotiraditya Scindia, had wished for his speedy recovery following his hospital admission in May.

On the other hand, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also developed fever and sore throat on Sunday evening and on Monday, AAP leaders said Kejriwal has gone into isolation.

Arvind Kejriwal will undergo coronavirus test on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, coronavirus cases in India has shot up to 2.66 lakh while the death toll now stands at 7,466. India recorded the highest spike in coronavirus cases on Tuesday with 9,987 new Covid cases.
