Have you downloaded the Arogya Setu app? Have you travelled anywhere in the last 15 days? How old are you?: These were a few questions every customer who visited shopping malls on Monday had to answer. People were allowed in only after they entered their name, phone number and travel history in a register.
However, not many customers showed up on the first day. When BM checked, a few people said they had come just to check which stores have opened. “We did not come for shopping today. We just thought of checking what would open in a mall,” said Siddharth and his wife, who were at Gopalan Arcade Mall on Mysore Road.
Supermarkets and a few boutiques were open but eateries and multiplexes stayed shut.

At the Gopalan Legacy mall, aquarantine room had been arranged where PPE, a cot, and a dustbin are placed. “This room is for any customer who might feel restless all of a sudden or experience shortness of breath. They will be attended to by an on-call doctor,” said Ramesh H, mall manager, Gopalan Legacy mall.
