To discuss change of strategy if determined that State has reached community spread of virus
Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, on Monday said that he will meet the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) officials to discuss Covid-19 on Tuesday.
“The meeting shall take place as scheduled. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has instructed me to attend the meeting since he is unwell. The discussion would be whether Delhi has entered the community spread stage of Covid-19, and if it is so, then a change in the strategy is needed to fight against Covid-19,” said Sisodia.
The meeting will also be attended by Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Revenue Minister, Chief Secretary and the Police Commissioner.
Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has been unwell since Sunday and has been self-isolating. He will be tested for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
“Delhi CM Kejriwal is down with fever since Saturday afternoon and also complained of sore throat. He is under home isolation and will be tested for Covid-19 tomorrow. Will pray for his speedy recovery,” tweeted AAP leader Sanjay Singh.
Kejriwal on Sunday addressed a digital press conference in which he announced opening of borders of the National Capital from Monday. “Mall, restaurants and religious places to open from June 8 in Delhi. However, hotels and banquets will remain closed,” said Kejriwal.
He had also announced that Delhi hospitals will be reserved only for treatment of the residents of Delhi while the Central government hospitals in the national capital will be open for all.
