Delhi man offered a ride, beaten up & robbed

Gurgaon: A Delhi resident was allegedly thrashed and robbed of his gold ring when he took a lift from IFFCO Chowk on Saturday morning.
According to police, Prateek Kumar was on his way to Manesar where he works at a construction company. He had reached IFFCO Chowk and then took a lift to Manesar.
“When I got inside the cab, there were already two men sitting in the vehicle. The moment the driver took off, the duo started beating me. They pulled out a gun and pointed at me and asked to handover them all my valuables, including my watch, wallet, mobile phone and gold ring,” Kumar said in his statement to the police.
He added that after covering some distance, the robbers gave him his watch and other valuables back except the gold ring and fled off after dumping him on the highway.
He somehow reached home and informed police. An FIR was registered under Section 379b (snatching by use of force and sections of arms act) of IPC at Sector 29 police station. “We have registered a case and are investigating the matter. The accused will be arrested soon,” a police officer said.
