Coronavirus: 17 more Covid-19 patients die in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported 17 deaths and 1,562 new Covid-19 cases on Monday. This takes the death count to 286 and the total number of cases to 33,229.
Of the new 1,562 cases, 1,520 are from within the state. They include 1,149 cases in Chennai.
Chennai’s neighbouring districts reported a total of 209 cases – Chengalpet 134, Kancheepuram 18 and Tiruvallur 57 cases.
Vellore reported 33 cases while Tuticorin recorded 26, Kallakuruchi 20, Thiruvannamalai 11 and Cuddalore 10 cases. Nineteen other districts had a single digit rise.
There were 42 returnees who tested positive.
At the end of the day, 528 people were discharged taking the total number of cured persons to 17,527.
Among the dead, three were from private hospitals and others had no comorbidities.
