Rajnath slams Maharashtra govt over coronavirus handling

AMN / NEW DELHI

Defence Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh has criticized the Maharashtra government over its handling of the coronavirus crisis and said it should take inspiration from BJP governments in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka on containing the virus spread.

Addressing the virtual Maharashtra Jan Samvaad rally today, he said, Mumbai has been badly affected due to Covid-19.

While assuring all possible help to fight Covid-19, the Defence Minister lashed out at the Uddhav Thackeray government saying that the situation in Maharashtra shows that the state government is incapable of handling the crisis.

He alleged that the government in Maharashtra is directionless. Mr Singh asserted that migrants have suffered in Maharashtra due to the lack of cooperation from the State government.

He said, the Centre is ready to provide all assistance to the state government to fight Covid-19.

Mr. Singh said that it is because of the timely steps taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that India has been least affected due to the global pandemic as compared to what is witnessed in the developed countries.

He assured people that leadership of the country is in strong hands and they will not compromise on India’s pride and self-respect.
