Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on telephone today with President of Philippines, His Excellency Rodrigo Duterte, and discussed the steps being taken by the two governments to address the challenges arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic. Both leaders expressed appreciation for the cooperation extended to ensure the welfare of their citizens in each other's territory, as also for their repatriation home, during the ongoing health crisis. The Philippines President also appreciated the steps taken by India to maintain the supply of essential pharmaceutical products to the Philippines.

CBI officer tests positive for COVID-19 in Kolkata, reports PTI

An officer of the anti-corruption branch of CBI at Nizam Palace here tested positive for coronavirus, sources said. The DIG-rank officer's report came out positive on Monday, they said. The entire office building has been sanitised and strict safety protocols are in place, the sources said. All the staff are wearing masks and adhering to social distancing norms. Hand sanitisers have also been made available at every entry point, they said.
