* Unlock 1.0, the phased withdrawal of the Covid-19 lockdown, is set to gather pace with the reopening of places of worship, malls, markets, hotels and restaurants on Monday. Preparations were on in full swing at Bull Temple in Basavanagudi (left) and Jamia Masjid in City Market (right), both in Bengaluru, and iconic St Philomena’s Church in Mysuru on Sunday.
* With Unlock 1.0 kicking in and the number of Covid-19 cases witnessing a spike, the Karnataka government is likely to implement ‘reverse quarantine’ to protect elderly citizens and others susceptible to coronavirus.
* Bengaluru, which reported 23 fresh positive cases, also recorded two deaths since Saturday night
* Karnataka reported 239 cases on Sunday, taking the total infections in the state to 5,452. About 74% (177) of the new patients are Maharashtra returnees. Kalaburagi and Yadgir saw 39 cases each, followed by Belagavi at 38.
