Mervin Alexander is an alumnus of National Defence CollegeKOLKATA: S Mervin Alexander, an officer of the 1987 batch of the Indian Postal Service, on Monday joined as the chief postmaster general of West Bengal Circle (includes Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands).
Alexander who is an alumnus of National Defence College was joint secretary, dept. of atomic energy in his last assignment. He was also director in the boards of three PSUs -- IREL, UCIL & ECIL.
He had also functioned as governing council member of Tata Memorial Centre (Tata Cancer Hospital) & B. Barooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati, both autonomous Institutions under DAE.
He had worked in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and was at the postal directorate, New Delhi.
