In the spirit of brotherhood

With the lockdown in force, Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations were a low-key affair. However, Muslim youth from Keri came forward in festive spirit to provide food to stranded migrant workers (until the transit process was done) on their way to Karnataka and other places through the Keri checkpoint and offer packed food to all front warriors deployed at Keri and Morle Sattari.

Meanwhile on the day of Eid, the youth distributed ‘Shirkurma’ and ‘Biryani’ to frontline warriors working at the Keri checkpoint. “We observed that many migrant workers were stranded here at checkpoints at Keri and Morle. We conducted surveys in the morning and tried to provide food and water to them,” said one of the youth, Javed Khan. Another youth added that they appreciate the efforts of all frontline workers working around the clock to keep everyone safe. “Eid is the best festival to express our gratitude to these frontline workers and so we provided Eid-special shirkurma and biryani to them as a token of the community’s appreciation,” he said.

Youth from the Keri village present included panch member Dawood Syed, Mohammad Aga, Rehmatullah Shaikh, Javed Khan, Sadiq Makander, Ayub Shaikh, Sharif Betgiri, Alkar Arikop, Khaja Betgiri, Musef Shaikh, Mauj Shaikh, Bushran Shaikh, Farhan Khan, Niaz Karol, Altaf Syed, Arbaaz Khan, Taukir Sheikh, Altaf Nishander, Arif Sheikh, Tousif Syed and Shoaib Sheikh.
