Unlock 1: What has happened so far
Religious places , restaurants, shopping malls and hotels in non-containment zones re-opened today after 80 days with a lot of precautionary measures
Devotees were seen wearing masks . Touching of idols or holy books and singing groups were not allowed
Among the prominent religious places that reopened were the Tirupati Balaji temple, the Gorakhnath Temple, the Golden Temple in Amritsar and the Eidgah Mosque in Lucknow.
In Delhi hotels, remained closed with the govt seeing them as a standby quarantine facility
Traffic jams were seen in Mumbai and on the Delhi-Noida road with more people back at work
The number of Covid-19 cases though continued to rise. The total number of cases is now over 2.56 lakh after the largest single-day spike of and the death toll is 7135

Private hospitals charging hefty sums from COVID-19 patients: BJP
Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council Praveen Darekar has claimed that private hospitals are charging hefty amounts from COVID-19 patients and demanded the state government to intervene in the matter.
The state government has included COVID-19 treatment under the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, but private hospitals are still charging huge sums from patients, the BJP leader told reporters here on Sunday.

Job demand, household coverage under MGNREGS hit a new high
The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) has set new records on the number of person-days of work generated and households benefited under it in May, a month that saw largescale reverse migration from cities.
As many as 417.7 million person-days of work, a 13% rise from a year earlier, was generated last month, according to government data. The number of households covered under the scheme shot up 31% on-year in the past month to 28 million. These are the highest ever for a month since the launch of the scheme 15 years ago.
