CHANDIGARH: The UT administration is all set to open two containment zones by Tuesday. The officials will hold a meeting on Monday. The two containment zones are pockets of Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26, and an area of Kachhi Colony in Dhanas.
A meeting of high-level committee of senior officers of the UT, including municipal commissioner, deputy commissioner, SSP and health officials, is scheduled on Monday. Sources said out of the 14 sealed pockets of Bapu Dham, eight and an area of Kachhi Colony will be opened.
Sources said after many Covid-19 positive cases started coming from Bapu Dham colony in April, the entire colony was divided into 20 pockets by taking all the required precautionary measures. Out of these 20 pockets, six were opened a few days back. "In these eight pockets of Bapu Dham colony, no positive cases have been witnessed so far.
Moreover, as Kachhi colony is going to complete its 28-day sealing period on June 9 and no new fresh case has been reported from the colony, it will also be opened," said a senior official.
