AHMEDABAD: Gujarat in 24 hours ending 5 pm on Monday recorded 477
Covid-19 positive cases, taking the state total to 20,574. The cases included 346 from Ahmedabad, 48 from Surat and 35 from Vadodara.
It was sixth consecutive day for Gujarat to record more than 470 cases or one case every three minutes. It was also second consecutive day for Ahmedabad to record 300-plus cases and fourth time in June. It was second highest ever case for the district in a day.
The state also recorded deaths of 31 Covid-19 positive patients, taking the total to 1,280. This is fifth time in June that the state has recorded 30 or more deaths daily. The deaths included 24 from Ahmedabad, two each from Surat and Gandhinagar and one each from Sabarkantha, Panchmahal and Rajkot.
With the deaths on Monday, Ahmedabad city recorded 1,000-plus deaths. While the district has cumulative 1,039 deaths, Ahmedabad city limit now has 1,013 deaths. In June, the daily death toll for Ahmedabad district has not gone below 20, reveal statistics.
A total of 321 patients got discharged in 24 hours ending 5 pm on Monday, taking the total to 13,964. The discharged patients include 218 from Ahmedabad, 57 from Surat, 28 from Vadodara.
Out of the total cases in Gujarat, 5330 (25.9%) patients are active, 13,964 (67.9%) patients are discharged and 1280 (6.2%) patients are dead. As on Monday evening, the state has 59 patients on ventilator.
Gujarat carried out 4,603 tests in 24 hours, taking the total to 2.56 lakh. The number of daily tests for the first time dipped below 5,000 in past on week.
A total of 2.1 lakh persons are under quarantine in Gujarat out of which 2.03 lakh are under home quarantine.
