Haryana: Four booked for breaking quarantine regulations in Ambala

AMBALA: Four persons of Taprian village in Ambala district who were quarantined at a facility after their arrival from Andhra Pradesh (AP), have been booked for breaking quarantine regulations on Saturday and were found roaming in their village.
Notably, one more person who returned with them from AP had tested positive in Ambala district on June 5, therefore, they were asked to under quarantine at the community health centre (CHC) in Dehar Ambli village of Ambala.
On the complaint of Taprian village sarpanch Janak Raj, four persons of his village have been booked under Section 51 (punishment for obstruction) of the Disaster Management Act and 188 (disobedience of orders of public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 270 (malignant act) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Mullana police station on Saturday.
Sarpanch Janak stated to the police, “Four persons of my village namely Kanwar Singh, Vinod Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, and Manish Kumar had come from AP on May 26 and they were quarantined for 28 days at CHC, Dehar Ambli on May 30. One more person of my village who came with them from AP had tested positive on June 5, therefore, these four were specially asked to stay at the quarantine facility. On Saturday, all four were found roaming together in the village and they violated the quarantine norms. They were warned earlier as well but they did not listen.”
The Ambala police told, “All four have been quarantined and further action will be initiated against them after their quarantine period is over. The violation of norms related to preventing coronavirus spread are not being tolerated.”
