92 fresh cases reported in Jharkhand, toll crosses 1,000-mark

There has been a spike in the number of COVID19 cases in the last 24 hours in Jharkhand. 92 fresh cases have been reported in the state with that the total crossed 1000 benchmark. Out of total 1030 cases detected in the state, 742 cases have been reported in the inbound migrants returning to Jharkhand from other states.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed concern over the growing number of cases in the state and directed to increase the testing speed. Presently 84,515 samples have been tested so far. However, the state government is committed to bring back all its stranded labourers.

Another chartered flight carrying 208 labourers from Leh Ladakh is coming to Ranchi which will be the seventh such flight sponsored by the state government. Two more flights have been lined up to bring back labourers from Leh in a phased manner.

There has been a continuous surge in the number of patients detected since the last 8 days in Jharkhand. On an average 80 cases have been reported on every single day. Following the recent rise in the number of COVID cases, the new directives issued by Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh will be followed outside the Containment Zones in Unlock-1 from tomorrow, where all religious places will remain closed till June 30 until further orders.

No congregation for any political, sports, social, entertainment, educational, cultural or religious work will be allowed. Use of tobacco and its products and spitting in public places is prohibited and has been made punishable. Private vehicles, taxis and cabs require a mandatory e-pass for entering in the state.

Use of face masks and face covers while stepping out of home, in public places, work places and during use of transportation is a must. The Standard Operating Procedures SOPs issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare shall not be followed in full spirit by the state government.
