Coronavirus latest news: India’s rank is rising among countries most-affected in the coronavirus pandemic in terms of total number of cases, data from different organisations shows.

India had 246,622 coronavirus cases and 6,946 deaths from the disease to rank sixth, according to Worldometer website on Sunday. USA's Johns Hopkins University put the same the numbers for total cases and deaths, but ranked India as the fifth most-affected.
 
The country’s health ministry put the total Covid-19 cases at 236,657 and deaths at 6,929, according to data released on Saturday.

Coronavirus world update: The global tally of coronavirus cases stands at 6,981,005 and 402,237 people have died from the disease so far.
